What happens during the in-home consultation?

How long does the in-home consultation take?
Typically, it takes 15-30 minutes, depending on the number of windows and doors that are part of the project.
Is this a long, drawn out sales presentation?
No. We don’t like them ourselves, and we never do them for our prospective customers.
Do I have to be there when you come?
Yes. We need to measure from the inside of your home.
Someone at least 18 years of age or older must be there, or else we will reschedule the appointment.
Does my spouse have to be there?
No, not with My Window and Door Guy.
When a company tells you that your spouse must be there, that should be a red-flag. They want both spouses to be there in order to pressure you to make a decision during their sales presentation.
Are you an approved Florida My Safe Home program contractor?
Not directly. If you are a Florida My Safe Home grant recipient, we’re happy to provide you with the contact information for an approved contractor who does exceptional work throughout the greater Tampa Bay area.
At this time, they are not providing services for the program’s low-income grant recipients.

Can you install windows that I bought myself?
Unfortunately, we can’t install windows that you’ve bought elsewhere. We ensure that the windows we use meet the current building codes and are the perfect size for the opening. All windows and doors installed by us are custom made to make sure everything fits perfectly.
It’s a bit different from grabbing something off the shelf and making it work.
How long does the process take?
By process – we’re assuming you mean from the time you reach out to us, until the time your new windows are installed.
After your initial request for a quote comes through, one of our product specialists can typically schedule your free in-home consultation within a few days.
Once you place an order, we typically install your new custom made windows and doors within 10-12 weeks.
Note that lead times vary by manufacturer, so the timing of your installation will ultimately depend on the brand you’ve selected.
Do you repair windows and doors?
We only repair windows and doors purchased and installed through us.
